Adventure sports Swissraft has an office in Gorduno, a village northwest of Bellinzona (091/921 00 71, www.swissraft.ch), and offers a half-day of rafting from Cama to Bellinzona (Fr.85), mountain bike tours from Fr.75, plenty of canyoning options (Fr.95–175) and tons more.

Markets There’s a colourful, friendly weekly market of breads, local cheeses, wines, fruit and veg, and handicrafts held in the alleys of the Old Town every Saturday (7am–noon). Restaurants in the Old Town take the opportunity to offer local specialities of polenta or risotto for Saturday lunch al fresco. Also don’t miss the annual cheese market in early October, where all the Ticinese Alpine producers parade their mountain cheeses for sale.
