St Moritz : arrival, orientation and information
Home > Tourist Guide > Table of contents > Graubuenden > The Upper Engadine > St Moritz > Arrival

The town spans two villages: when people refer to St Moritz, they’re talking about St Moritz-Dorf, a cluster of hotels, restaurants and boutiques on the hillside above the lake. St Moritz-Bad, far removed from the glitz 2km southwest down on the lakeshore, is a distinctly unattractive mini-sprawl of concrete apartment blocks and sports halls. Via dal Bagn connects the two. The train station (also the main postbus terminus, and the place to reserve for the Palm Express postbus to Lugano) is awkwardly placed below Dorf, on the opposite side of the lake from Bad; it has a money-changing counter (daily 6.50am–8.10pm).

Via Serlas winds up from the station past the main post office (CH-7500) to the central square of Dorf. The tourist office is 100m east at Via Maistra 12 (July–Aug & Dec–April Mon–Sat 9am–6pm; Christmas–March also Sun 4–6pm; rest of year Mon–Fri 8am–noon & 2–6pm, Sat 9am–noon; 081/837 33 33, www.stmoritz.ch).
